Capital Region Crime Stoppers is completely funded by private donations and fundraising. The reward money that is paid to individuals who provide the valuable tips to the program also comes strictly from those fundraising efforts and generous donations. No taxpayer dollars are involved. 

Sufficient funding is also essential to ensuring that the public is aware of the program. Whether it's advertising, the purchase of promotional items or valuable training for volunteers involved with Crime Stoppers, funding is very important.
